Maskinklippet is a valuable partner in construction, forestry and gardening

Maskinklippet most likely has the market’s widest range of machinery for forestry and gardening. What is not on the shelf is quickly ordered and in this way, virtually any client need within the core areas of the business can be met. Maskinklippet welcomes customers to the store and workshop in Mörrum, but over 95 percent of sales are made online.

When Maskinklippet was founded in 1998, it was a small bicycle shop and workshop at the home of current CEO Johanna Olsson’s family. It was a side business of the founder, until 2004 when it became a certified dealer for Husqvarna and Stihl. The company became considerably larger and growth was good until a low season in 2013. That was when the founder began to think about purchasing patterns and quickly concluded that e-commerce was the way to go.

The business has since developed beyond all expectations and Maskinklippet is today a partner for everyone who works in forestry and gardening, including private individuals and DIYers.

The value of personal service

The purchase of a new machine is an investment. Therefore, it is obvious for Maskinklippet to offer personal service and advice throughout the entire purchasing process, from the very first consideration of which machine to buy, to the final purchase and also aftermarket in the form of service and repairs.

“It is both easy and safe to shop with us. We are available to our customers when it suits them; by phone, email and via a chat function on the website. You can always ask us for advice about your purchase. We have specialists who use the machines and who understand how they work and know what they are best used for. What sets us apart from many others in the industry is that we have staff who use the machines themselves”, says Johanna Olsson.

Johanna is very proud of the business as it is today.

“It is a fantastic development that has characterised and still characterises the company. I have worked here for over ten years and I am still fascinated by how close we are to our customers despite being e-commerce, and how much of a difference the right advice and collaboration can make. We are a partner for our customers, not just a point of sale. Our customers know that, and we want to draw potential new customers’ attention to that as well”.

“A real machine shop – online”

Husqvarna and Stihl are market-leading brands in the industry. Over the years, Maskinklippet has expanded its range with more brands, and also has its own brand called Rovik. By offering a large number of brands, Maskinklippet caters to a very broad target group.

Robotic lawnmowers are most popular. Here, the market leaders have gone from making physical home visits to ensure the possibility of robotic lawnmowers to today, with recent developments, being able to offer models for basically every lawn area regardless of complexity - from private plots to larger public environments. With the help of digital tools, it becomes easy to recommend the right robotic lawnmower for each area.

“Regardless of the brand, the common denominator is that we don’t sell an article number, we sell a product with all the knowledge we have about it. This means that our customers can trust us, that we know our stuff and that it’s the right product they’re taking home. It should be the same feeling to shop online as visiting our store here in Mörrum. That is why we have our slogan A real machine shop – online”, says Johanna.
