Techinova: Full control prevents interruptions in the electricity grid

Techinova develops control and monitoring systems for electricity distributors and energy producers. Here, the entire chain is taken care of from design to commissioning of complete systems with a high degree of automation. Techinova’s solutions provide full control over the electricity grid and thus the possibility of a quick response in the event of failure.

Electricity distributors and power producers want to do everything possible to prevent interruptions and achieve a robust, stable delivery. With Techinova’s solutions, this work is simplified considerably. Techinova takes the best that has already been developed and combines these solutions to provide the best option for each customer’s needs. If there is no viable solution, everything is developed from scratch based on 25 years of experience.

50 percent growth each year

Techinova is in a strong growth phase and needs to recruit to keep up with demand.

“We have grown by 50 percent a year in recent years and we are currently preparing for delivery in a number of large procurements that we have won. We are looking for more people who want to join us and drive our projects and our development forward”, says Marianne Ivarsson, CEO of Techinova.

“Initially, we are primarily looking for service engineers, automation engineers and production technicians. More positions will be advertised later”.

“Even though we are growing, we are still a small company. This gives us advantages in that we can be more flexible and everyone who works here has the opportunity to be involved and influence our direction. We are looking for people who want to join our journey and who value a varied work where you get to be involved from start to finish”, continues Marianne.

Willing to take on high school students

Techinova is targeting, among other things, young people from the high school’s electrical and energy programs. They are offered the opportunity to work together with and learn from Techinova’s experts in production. Many have found jobs at the company that way and then developed further to become service technicians, for example. There are many different professional roles within Techinova and many paths you can take.

Techinova has offices in Karlskrona and Uppsala. Uppsala was chosen because there is a power engineering program at Uppsala University.

“We also have a collaboration with BTH. We have recruited a newly graduated information security engineer from there, among other things. This is a role we are looking to fill. We have about 20 employees and just as many different roles. Since we are growing so quickly, new needs are constantly arising. We will continue to grow and need to bring everyone who is interested on our journey”.

Just the tip of an iceberg

There is an enormous development going on in electricity distribution and power production right now. Techinova’s services are needed everywhere. The current procurements are just the tip of the iceberg.

“With a larger share of solar and wind-produced electricity, for example, the grid needs to be much more robust to be able to receive intermittent electricity production. This places new demands on electricity distributors. Our solutions help them build redundancy in the grids so that they can balance the load”, explains Marianne.

Techinova will continue to grow and has already been designated a DI gazelle company in 2025.
