EU Missions are a coordinated effort by the Commission to pool resources in terms of funding programmes, policies and regulations, as well as other activities. (EU Missions in Horizon Europe (europa.eu)
They aim to mobilise and activate public and private actors, such as EU Member States, regional and local authorities, research institutes, farmers and land managers, entrepreneurs and investors to create real and lasting impact. Missions will engage with citizens to boost societal uptake of new solutions and approaches.
The five EU Missions will support Europe’s transformation into a greener, healthier, more inclusive and resilient continent.
The Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change focuses on supporting EU regions, cities and local authorities in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change. The Mission’s objective is to accompany at least 150 European regions and communities towards climate resilience by 2030.
The annual Mission Forum is a major governance element of the Mission bringing together national, regional and local authorities, Friends of the Mission, European institutions, and research organisations.
The Forum is an opportunity to take stock, identify issues, provide direction, and define the path ahead. It will also showcase regional initiatives on adaptation to climate change and will facilitate dialogue between the participants of the Forum.
This year the Mission Forum will take place in Blekinge on the 13th of June with approximately 300 participants from all over Europe. Mission Adaptation Forum – (fresh-thoughts.eu)
